We went for a walk in the eye of the storm (the middle of the hurricane where it is not as windy and rainy as the rest of the storm) and saw a tree that fell down and brought the fence with it!!
All the bins have been turned upside down to prevent it being blown away and damaging something.
We also walked down by the river and could see the lines of leaves where the water had gotten up to. At one point the water had flooded the big road near by.
We didn't see this next bit but read it online, 2 cars got stuck in water on 10th ave and we are staying on 11th ave. It's very exiting.
Well I am glad you're okay! I saw the picture of you with the slice of pizza, that is some huge pizza you got there. Also I really like this new blog background!
ReplyDeleteWith all this excitement in the first days in New York, I wonder what will be next. Fancy arriving into a hurricane!! We will wait for the next instalment with anticipation.
